INTERIM MINISTRY AND TRANSITION
July 12th, 2009
This period of time is a time for healing and
refocusing our energy to begin again. We appreciate the work of John
& Jill Parker in helping to provide a healthy spiritual environment
for growth and renewal. We also appreciate them for inviting the whole
congregation to their farm and we are looking forward to visiting it on
July 25th. and hope as many as possible will take advantage of the
opportunity to get away from the world and enjoy some Christian
fellowship.
We appreciate your support of John and Jill
because the natural urge is to hire a minister as quickly as
possible. Studies, however, show that hiring a new minister too
quickly is not wise. The experience of those who have been through this
before shows that it is better to wait at least three to six months and
in some cases it has been demonstrated that it is beneficial to wait as
much as one month for every year that the previous regular preacher was
at the congregation. In our case this would be as long as twenty
months. We do not anticipate at this time taking that long.
In the next few weeks a search committee will
be formed. Several men will be asked to join this committee. More
announcements will be made in the coming weeks. The elders appreciate
your continued support and prayers. If you have any questions, please
ask.
