PRIVILEGED
TO SERVE LIST

Men scheduled to serve during morning worship please meet at least 5 minutes before services in the Teacher's Work Room.

Cliff Hand moved to Fairview in the summer of 1997 and has been a member of our congregation here at Fairview ever since. After graduating Freed Hardeman University in 2008, with a B.S. degree in Bible with an emphasis in Youth Ministry, Cliff was hired in April of 2005 as our congregation's first staffed part-time youth minister. He now serves the same youth group that he himself was an active part in.

The youth minister is designated to do just as the title implies... minister actively to our congregation's youth and their friends. Although organizing events, class schedules, overseeing the youth groups, balancing the youth group budget, and planning opportunities for the youth to get to know each other and serve the congregation is an important part of his responsibilities. A far more vital role is his direct interaction with our youth. Making sure all the youth have opportunities to grow stronger together in Christ and feel that they have someone besides their parents to discuss what ever needs or concerns they may have.

Now a word from Cliff Hand...

The young people of the church need to be encouraged to reach their full potential in the work of the Lord. They need the ideals installed in them that are found in verses such as I Timothy 4:2.

1 Timothy 4:2
"...preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction."

Young people need to feel included with the rest of the congregation. Not excluded from the adults and their works that they are doing. Young people need to be working closely with older members of the congregation to gain knowledge and wisdom for the life in which they will lead.

Young people are not the church of tomorrow. They are the church of today."

Thank you for allowing me the privilege and honor in getting to know and help guide the youth here at Fairview.
